Est\u00e1 constituida como una asociaci\u00f3n civil, gremial, sin fines de lucro, y de derecho privado. Es la m\u00e1xima entidad de representaci\u00f3n nacional del sector de las microfinanzas reguladas.<br><br>\n\nSe entiende por entidades reguladas a aquellas que est\u00e1n bajo la regulaci\u00f3n y supervisi\u00f3n de la&nbsp;Autoridad de Supervisi\u00f3n del Sistema Financiero.<br><br>\n\nSu personer\u00eda jur\u00eddica ha sido reconocida mediante Resoluci\u00f3n Prefectural RAP No. 0424 de fecha 20 de agosto de 1999 y su funcionamiento se rige por su Estatuto.\n\nActualmente integran la n\u00f3mina de asociados activos, seis entidades financieras, de las cuales tres son Bancos M\u00faltiples, dos son Bancos Pymes y una es Entidad Financiera de
